CHALLENGE Very interesting 😊 1/30/2015 1 Comment Sounds good...VictorFrankl suggest that there are 3 central values in life- The experiential -What happens to us, The creative -that which we bring into existence, and the Attitudinal- our response to difficult circumstances,82 What matters most is how we respond to what we experience in life... Sounds good to me😊 1/29/2015 0 Comments Thu, Jan 29, 20151/29/2015 0 Comments Look deep...it's the only way...Coming from That place that is deep inside of us is so difficult and yet so satisfying at the same time. " Our true self is not our creation, its Gods (whatever God means to you- this is a blog about presence and conscious not religion) it is the self we are within our depths-it is our capacity for divinity and transcendence. Our true self is always guiding us toward the wellspring of lasting joy...it always knows what we need- it's our voice to connect. We are never alone, we are always connected." 1/28/2015 0 Comments Neuroplasticity...oh boy...So today I read a book by David Perlmutter and Alberto Villoldo call Powering up your Brain. I was lost and fascinated simultaneously. The theme was basically that through Neuralplasticity ( a non specific neuroscience term referring to the ability of the brain and nervous system in ALL species to change structurally and functionally) anotherward's, the brain can develop new super neural highways/networks ( say that really fast- new super neural networks.) So the whole gist of the book is that at every moment we are choosing to sculpt our brain- by the foods we eat , thoughts we think, activities we do, etc.So by mentally attending to the present moment TOATLLY engaged, the brain can MAP new terrain literally. On the other hand, if we are not paying attention, our brain activates other synaptic networks that can distract from its original intention. So, without focused attention new brain connections are not made and memory is not stored nor are lessons taught...that sucks😝 So some of the suggestions from the good doctors is to eat good brain food, exercise, drink a lot of water, think really good thoughs( power adjectives) do something new, meditate, star gaze, take a walk, check In with yourself and others... So here's to creating New Neural Networks🎇 |
